Oriana Body Piercing Academy is offering  “BODY PIERCING INTENSIVE” OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE:  The body piercing intensive is designed for an all-encompassing group of people: those individuals who are interested in body piercing and plan to make it a career, and those looking to apprentice. While our instructor Jason Terhune has over twenty years of experience in the body piercing industry, the Oriana Body Piercing Intensive does not require an attendee to have any previous experience in body piercing. We are looking for students with a strong passion and desire to learn and become proficient body piercing technicians.  Our body piercing intensive will cover a wide range of course curriculum. First, our students will receive a brief overview of the history of body piercing. Next, attendees will learn the relevant human anatomy associated with the corresponding body piercings. Students will also gain a vast knowledge of cross-contamination, along with proper cleaning and sterilization techniques. Students will also learn about the all-important bedside manner needed to properly work one-on-one with their clients. Students will then be taught proper breathing techniques that will help their clients through the pain involved with body piercing. Students will learn the proper jewelry, sizes, etc., as well as the proper tools needed for each piercing. Finally, last but not least, you will learn how to perform each of the piercings being taught in the class.  All students will be expected to perform at least two piercings, which will be observed by the class instructor; however, students are encouraged to practice on one another. Although the shop will ask for volunteers, we cannot ensure they will be available.  Our intermediate class consists of forty hours of intense instruction, Tuesday through Saturday. A certificate of completion will be given to each student upon completion of the class. The advanced class will also be held Tuesday through Saturday of the following week, and students will receive their certificate of completion as well.  The goal of the Oriana Body Piercing Intensive is to have all of our students working within the body piercing industry. Whether you choose to apprentice or move on to work in a shop, the joy of this industry is that you can take the skills you learn at the Oriana Body Piercing Intensive anywhere in the world.  Our faculty are passionate about the subjects they teach and bring this enthusiasm into their lessons.
